Welcome to your quick guide to arriving in Seychelles—and making sure you pick the right entry point for smooth travel. First up: the main gateway. Arriving by air? You’ll most likely touch down at Seychelles International Airport on Mahé Island. It’s open 24/7 and equipped with modern immigration, customs and transport services. Next: the secondary air option. On Praslin Island, Praslin Airport handles charter flights and smaller international arrivals during daylight hours, with immigration and basic services. Arriving by sea? The main maritime entry is at Port Victoria on Mahé. It welcomes cruise ships, private yachts and other vessels with full immigration and customs support. There are also smaller ports: for example the jetty at Praslin Island, and the limited-service harbour on La Digue. These are authorised for smaller international arrivals by boat or private vessel. And if you’re coming by private aircraft or yacht: you must use an authorised entry point, notify the authorities in advance, and bring all required documentation—passport, travel authorisation, vessel or aircraft papers and customs clearances. Important: You must only enter through authorised ports of entry. Unofficial landings—on remote beaches or closed harbours—could lead to detention, fines or deportation. All entry points use electronic verification systems for your travel authorisation, and many are being upgraded with biometric capabilities so that arrival is both safe and efficient. In short: plan your arrival at the right entry point, make sure your documents are in order, and you’ll start your Seychelles adventure smoothly. Bon voyage!
