Requirement for Entry

Flags of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic and Seychelles

The eTA is a mandatory pre-travel clearance and must be approved before departure. It is not a conventional visa and does not guarantee admission. Seychelles immigration makes the final decision at the border, including whether the travel document is recognised and whether all entry conditions are met.

Travel Purposes Covered

The application records the primary purpose of travel, such as a holiday, a short business visit, or visiting friends and family. These are travel purposes rather than separate tourist or business eTAs. Paid or unpaid work requires the appropriate Gainful Occupation Permit.

Stay Duration and Validity

The eTA applies to the journey described in the application; it does not determine the permitted stay. If the entry requirements are met, immigration normally issues a Visitor's Permit on arrival for up to three months. Read more about stay limits in our validity guide.

Application Fees

The total displayed before payment includes the Travel Authorisation charge and, when an assistance service is selected, the applicable service fee. Faster service options cost more but cannot guarantee approval. Review the current charges on the cost information page before paying.

How Long Does It Take?

Documents and Plane Tickets

The review time is not fixed but follows three general paths:

Standard service takes a . Urgent service prioritises your file in the queue. Super fast service is designed for those who need a result within hours due to unplanned travel.

Completing the Form

The digital form asks for your identity details and travel plans. It is essential to enter the information exactly as it appears on your passport. Any discrepancy between your permit and your passport can cause boarding issues.

Checking Your Progress

After you submit your request, you can check the status online. By entering your passport number and the reference code provided in your confirmation email, you can see if your application is still under review or approved.

Why Permits Are Denied

Most denials are preventable. Using an expired passport or providing an incorrect flight number are common mistakes. Ensure that your accommodation is on the approved list of local establishments to guarantee a smooth review.

What to Do if Your Stay Ends

If you wish to stay longer than originally planned, you must apply for an extension. Visit the immigration office before your current permit expires. Be prepared to show proof of funds and continued accommodation. Overstaying without notice is a serious matter.
