Swedish citizens do not need a conventional visa for a short visit to Seychelles. They must, however, obtain an approved Electronic Travel Authorisation (eTA) before departure.

Requirement for Swedish Passport Holders

Swedish passport holders are visa-exempt for short visits to Seychelles, but an approved Travel Authorisation is mandatory before departure. Airlines should verify the approval at check-in, and travellers cannot clear Seychelles immigration without it.

The authorisation is journey-specific and linked to the passport used in the application. Apply with the same passport you will present at check-in and on arrival.

A Visitor's Permit may be issued on arrival for holidays, short business visits, or visits to friends and family, provided all entry conditions are met.

Extending a Stay in Seychelles

It is the Visitor's Permit issued on arrival—not the eTA—that controls the authorised stay. The initial Visitor's Permit can be granted for up to three months and may be extended in further periods of up to three months, to a maximum total stay of 12 months, if the entry conditions continue to be met.

Apply for an extension online through Seychelles Immigration or in person before the current permit expires. Overstaying can lead to penalties and future immigration problems.
